Stock Reconciliation Support

Stock Reconciliation by Lazy Jack Limited compares broker holdings with financial ledgers or compliance lists on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. It does not execute trades or provide investment advice.

Free sessions and annual subscription

The app is free to download and includes 10 free reconciliation sessions. The optional annual subscription costs £10 per year in the UK and lets you reconcile unlimited new sessions on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Other regions have local prices; check the price shown by the App Store before purchasing.

A free session is used when a new session first completes reconciliation successfully. Importing documents, creating a draft, or a failed or cancelled run does not use one. Corrections and reruns in the same session do not count again. A duplicated session counts when it first reconciles successfully.

The built-in fictional demo is free to explore. If you replace its example data with your own documents, it becomes a normal session. Deleting, archiving, or renaming a session does not restore the allowance, and the ten free sessions do not reset each year.

You do not need to subscribe to use the free allowance, and it does not automatically turn into a paid subscription. While subscribed, new sessions do not use your remaining free allowance. Any unused free sessions remain available after your subscription ends.

Subscribe, restore, or cancel

Open Subscription from Settings or the remaining-session bar. Check the annual price and renewal information, then use Apple’s purchase screen to subscribe. The subscription renews automatically each year unless cancelled. Use Manage Subscription to review renewal details or cancel through Apple. Cancelling renewal keeps access until the current paid period ends.

One subscription covers your supported devices using the same Apple Account for App Store purchases. Family Sharing is not included. If a purchase is missing on another device, check its App Store account and internet connection, then choose Restore Purchases. Your App Store account can differ from your iCloud account; restoring purchases does not restore your free-session history.

If a purchase is pending, wait for Apple to confirm it. A cancelled or failed purchase does not unlock subscription access. If the price is unavailable, check your connection and try again later; do not assume a purchase has completed. Contact support if access still looks incorrect, without sending payment details.

Offline subscription access depends on the subscription status last confirmed on your device and its expiry date. Reconnect if a renewal or restored purchase has not appeared. Free-session history may also take time to sync through iCloud.

When your subscription ends or a purchase is refunded or revoked, you can still read, preview, export, and delete existing records, and correct or rerun sessions you have already successfully reconciled. Starting reconciliation in a new session requires remaining free allowance or an active subscription. Your subscription does not include additional iCloud storage.

See the Privacy Policy for payment and usage-history handling. The app uses Apple’s Standard Licence Agreement.

Start with fictional data

In Sessions, choose Create Synthetic Demo (the sparkles toolbar button). Explore Reconciliation and generate a PDF or CSV in Reports without importing financial records. You can delete the demonstration from Sessions afterwards. The in-app Settings screen also includes a User Guide.

Import documents and confirm holdings

  • Import CSV, TSV, XLSX, PDF, or images. Legacy XLS and encrypted workbooks are unsupported. Export a readable XLSX or CSV copy from your spreadsheet program.
  • On supported iPhone and iPad devices, use the document camera to scan pages. On Mac, import files or images. If scanning is unavailable, check camera permission in system Settings or use file import.
  • Download files from their provider before importing. Check that there is free device storage. For scans, use clear, upright pages with readable table headings.
  • Select the correct source role and review the selected spreadsheet sheet, column mappings, identifiers, and quantities. Financial sessions compare quantities; Compliance sessions focus on security identity and ownership.
  • Confirm each source before reconciliation. If confirmation is disabled, review the displayed mapping or validation requirements. Reusable Broker Format Profiles can help with later files in the same format.
  • To correct a confirmed source, choose Review Holdings. Saving corrections invalidates previous reconciliation results; run reconciliation again.

iCloud sync and offline use

Cross-device continuity requires devices using the same Apple Account with iCloud available. Check iCloud Drive and the app’s iCloud access in system Settings, connectivity, and available device and iCloud storage.

Session information and original documents may arrive at different times. A visible session does not necessarily mean its source file has downloaded. Allow time for iCloud to deliver the file and check the app’s sync status. Already downloaded data remains available for offline work; a file that has not arrived needs connectivity before it can be previewed.

Avoid signing out of iCloud, deleting the app, or deleting a session as a first troubleshooting step: local or pending data may be affected. If the problem persists, contact support with a description of the status you see.

Preview downloads and Try Again

When a preview is waiting for an iCloud document, keep the device connected and allow the download to finish. You can cancel the wait. If the preview reports that the file is unavailable, restore connectivity and choose Try Again. If your installed version does not show that option, close and reopen the preview and include your app version when reporting the issue.

Check whether the original document opens on the device where it was imported. Do not delete the source to force a download. Report whether the problem occurs on first opening, after retry, or only on another device.

Reports, storage, and deletion

Review PDF or CSV content and the destination before using the system save or share interface. Files saved or shared elsewhere must be removed from those destinations separately. Settings can clear temporary exports.

Archiving a session does not delete it. Deleting a session removes its records and associated app-managed files; cloud deletion can remain pending until iCloud is available. Reusable profiles and standing mappings are managed separately. See the Privacy Policy for backup and iCloud considerations.

Report a problem safely

Email support@lazy-jack.com with the subject “Stock Reconciliation support”. Include:

  • App version/build, device model, and iOS, iPadOS, or macOS version.
  • What you were trying to do, the steps taken, and expected versus actual behaviour.
  • File format, approximate file size/page count, and whether the issue can be reproduced with the synthetic demonstration or a fictional example.
  • The error wording after removing sensitive details, and whether iCloud, connectivity, and retry changed the result.

Do not send statements, holdings, account numbers, credentials, financial reports, or unredacted screenshots or logs. Describe the issue first. Use only fictional data for examples and inspect screenshots carefully before sharing. Support correspondence is separate from private app storage and is described in the Privacy Policy. A response time is not guaranteed.
